D had Friday off and he said he wanted to take a walk around Sydney on what was one of the first ‘summer-y’ days of the season. We started walking, still unsure as to exactly where we were headed. Our turns took us in the direction of Darling Harbour.
Kids were everywhere. We spotted several different school uniforms belonging to kids on school excursions. Despite it still being cool, some were stripped down to their nappies and underwear, splashing around in the water fountains. I’m excited for Little E to be able to do that. Next summer will be her time to shine!
We walked around in the sun, enjoying it (tan me!). I saw the Sydney Aquarium sign in the distance and decided that would be a great thing to do. Growing up, it was my favourite place to go when in Sydney. We had talked about going to the aquarium around Little E’s first birthday, and with that coming up (in two weeks !??! Time flies!) it seemed like the perfect time to do it.
Overall she seemed to enjoy herself mostly. The tanks confused her a bit and she was nervous going up to the glass to take a closer look at the weird fishy things. She was more interested in basking in the attention and waving hello to all the people than the actual exhibits, but it was a good time. She tired herself out and was out cold as soon as we got home!
Tickets are cheaper online so if you ever want to go, make sure you plan ahead even if it’s buying them on your phone as you walk up to the ticket counter!
